Mary Elizabeth Enmann, mezzo soprano, is a fifth-generation Californian. She became one of the first artists-in-residence with Opera San José where she performed in the premiere of Alva Henderson’s West of Washington Square in a role written specifically for her. Other favorites in her 30-role repertoire are The Sorceress (Dido & Aeneas), Marcelina (Le Nozze di Figaro), La Principessa (Suor Angelica), Zita (Gianni Schicchi), Mrs. Herring (Albert Herring), Elmire (Tartuffe), and her signature role of Baba (The Medium).

Ms. Enmann spent some time in Germany where she taught voice and English, and performed in several recitals and concerts. She has also performed with various opera companies in the Bay Area, Nevada, Arizona, and Oregon, and has done concert and oratorio work throughout California and Nevada.

Ms. Enmann is now a full-time vocal and drama instructor through the Center for Wellness at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, and is founder and director emeritus of Ladyesong Women's Vocal Ensemble. She has recently returned to the stage as a director for Lyric Theater San José and Peninsula Teen Opera.
